INDEPENDENT COUNSELORS OUR PURPOSE AND BELIEFS
College Counseling Service is dedicated to offering assistance to college-bound high school students as they navigate the college evaluation and admission process in order to find the proper college fit.
We help students and families navigate the college process. As unbiased advocates, we help them discover and attain the best academic, extracurricular and social matches.
Our belief is that there is no one perfect school, but rather the best schools for any given student are the ones in which he or she will thrive. We direct the student toward institutions that are most appropriate for student’s interests, learning, and social needs.
Our role is to reduce the feeling of pressure and panic that accompanies this important decision by demystifying the process and offering step by step guidance. A calm approach and a strong student-counselor relationship is important.
We provide support, encouragement and expertise throughout the application process.
CCS works with the full spectrum of students facing college and career choices including the traditional learner, accelerated learner, and special needs students.
Individual attention is provided. For every client, we tailor the number, length, and type of sessions to the needs of the individual student. You may access assistance when it is most beneficial.
Our professional staff is the best! We are highly experienced, compassionate and believe in listening intently and empowering the student. We guide confidently, making no assumptions, and giving clear, objective advice. We love and respect students and thoroughly enjoy watching students grow through this process.
CCS professionals have first hand knowledge of hundreds of educational opportunities. Our knowledge goes significantly deeper than the brochures, videos, and websites.
A commitment is made to spend 25% of our time on the road, meeting with admission representatives, touring campuses, and exploring campus environments.
We highly support and respect the expertise of the high school counselor and work closely with them to provide the best possible service to the student. We are a supplement to the high school counselor, not a replacement. We encourage students and families to work with their school counselor.
We insist that students be the sole author of their college applications and essays. We believe students need to take responsibility for their college process.
We do not make decisions for them, but rather help structure the process so they can make the best decisions.
College Counseling Service makes every effort as consultants to assist you. Given the nature of the admission process and the selectivity of many educational institutions, we cannot guarantee admission to any institution.
Our professionals do not influence or exert pressure on admission officers and the admission decisions they reach for their institutions.
We serve as a sounding board as the student reaches a final decision on where to matriculate. We listen intently and do not assume any decisions.
